If you are unsatisfied with your REI purchase, you can return it. REI stands behind everything it sells. REI Return Policy allows you to return your purchases within a 90 days return window from the date of purchase, and if you are an REI Co-op member, you can return your item within a year.
You can return your items at any of REI’s retail stores or online by mail. You must bring the original sales receipt when returning the item. Even if you purchased your item by phone, online, or in-store, you can return them by mail or at any REI retail store.

REI Refund Policy
REI refunds vary on the payment method you used to purchase the order. It may take additional 10 business days for the refund to be processed back to your card or account by your payment company or bank. The online and phone order purchases refunds will be issued in the original form of payment. Rewards will take up to 3 weeks to be issued in checks. Shipping and handling charges are not refunded.
Store purchases will be issued in the original payment form if they are returned to the store location they were purchased. If you return store purchases by mail, refunds will be issued in check and may take up to 3 weeks.
If you used PayPal for your purchase, you will receive a refund in your PayPal account. Apple Pay will be refunded to your credit card with the Apple account if returned by mail only.
REI Exchange Policy
You can exchange your merchandise at any REI store location. You can ask the REI store assistant to help you with the exchange. Unfortunately, REI does not provide exchanges via mail. REI Gift Returns
You can return your gifts easily at REI. Bring your gift in the original packaging with tags intact. An original gift receipt on any other proof of purchase is required. You can bring your gift to any REI store for return or exchange and ask the customer service desk to help.
If you want to return your gift items by mail, add a note requesting a “Gift Recipient Refund,” including the recipient’s name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. Mail Returns
You can return online and in-store purchases by mail. A restocking fee of $5.99 will be deducted from your refund as return shipping charges. Follow the given steps to make a return for REI items via mail:
In-store Returns
You can use the Find a Store on the REI website to find the nearest store. You can return your items to a REI store within 90 days from their purchase date. Pack your items and take them to the store. The items must be in their original packaging with all the tags intact as per REI Return Policy Guidelines.
Bring an original sales receipt with your returned items to the store. Talk to a store associate, and they will help you with the return process. Remember that purchases of $500 or more will be issued back as a cash refund. You will receive it within 5 business days.

Gift Card Policy
REI provides physical gift cards and e-gift cards. You can purchase both gift cards from their official website. You can load the gift cards between $10 and $1000. The digital gift cards are emailed within a few hours of purchase. REI gift cards do not have an expiration date. Standard Shipping takes 5-7 business days to arrive at your desired location. REI gift cards cannot be refunded or redeemed for cash or credit.
REI Return Policy without Receipt
The returns made to the REI store require an original sales receipt or proof of purchase. If you are a Co-op Member, ask the store staff to help locate your order by the REI Co-op Member number.
