If the item’s quality has not met your expectations, you can return it to MEC. MEC return policy offers 30 days from the date of purchase to return your products. You need to bring your original receipt or confirmation email to return the products.

You can return your items both through mail and in-store. your product must be in original and resalable condition. They should be new, unused, clean, function like new, and used infrequently. If you are mailing your item for a return or exchange, you need to pay the return shipping fees.

MEC Hygiene Item Returns

Items such as socks, face masks, sanitary devices, and undergarments (that includes all types of bike chamois, underwear bottoms, and swimwear) cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are unused and unworn, and still are in their original packaging with the tags intact. Base layers are not undergarments.

Electronics Returns

You can return your electronic devices up to 90 days from their purchase date. Electronics include but are not limited to the following items:

E-Bikes Returns

E-bikes that are purchased as part of the BC Electric Bike Rebate Program are non-returnable and non-refundable. They can only be exchanged for another bike of the same value or higher. The exchange will only take place if the e-bikes are in a returnable condition.

PayPal Returns

If a member purchases their items via PayPal, they can return them within 356 days from the date of purchase. If they return their items after 365 days, the refund will be issued in the form of gift cards. Non-members only have 30 days to return the products. Members need to return the PayPal purchases to the Customer Care Center. If they return their items to the store, the refund will be issued as an MEC gift card.

MEC Refund Policy

You can get a full refund if you return your items within 30 days. The refund will be issued to the same credit card that you used to purchase the item. MEC refunds can also be made to a gift card or check. The refund will only be made to the person who made the purchase.

You can exchange your products within 30 days. You can return to any MEC store location. They do not accept exchanges via mail. But you can purchase a replacement item online or by phone and return the original item by mail.

Mail Returns

You can also mail in your returns. Please include a return information form with items you’re returning via mail. Once your parcel is received at our Mail-in Returns Centre, it may take 3-4 weeks to process. Our Mail-in Returns Centre is unable to offer exchanges or warranty support.

Mail Within Canada

You need to create a Canada Post return shipping label. You will receive a confirmation email with the tracking number from Canada Post. A shipping fee of $11 will be deducted from your refund amount.

Return via Other Carriers

Mail Outside Canada

You can send and pay for your mail via insured ground shipping, outside Canada. Make sure to write ‘Canadian Goods Returning’ on the outside of the package. You should not return the items by UPS or other carriers as they have a duty and brokerage fees, and your return will be refused by MEC.

In-Store Returns

You can use the Store Locator given to find the MEC store or MEC Service Center near you. You can bring your items in-store within 30 days from its purchase date to return. Securely pack your items and bring them to the store.

Make sure to bring an original sales receipt or order number if you ordered online to the store. Returns of boats, bikes, skis, or oversized items are not allowed at MEC HBC shop-in-shops. Talk to a store associate about your return. They will help you with the return process.

MEC Gift Card Policy

MEC offers both e-gift cards and physical gift cards. E-gift cards are delivered via email and arrive within 24 hours. You can select a future delivery date if you want. The physical gift cards can be purchased at MEC stores. 

They can be redeemed for purchases at the store, online, or by phone. MEC will not be responsible if your gift card is lost, stolen, or damaged. You can replace your gift card if you have proof of purchase.

MEC Returns Policy Without Receipt

You can return your items to MEC without a receipt if you shop as a member. They can track your order from the purchase history associated with your member number or email account. However, if you are not a member, you need to bring an original sales receipt or an order confirmation email to return or exchange your items.
